Juan Carlos Arana: “At Eibar, I can grow and I can help the team grow through humility and hard work”

The official presentation has taken place of the striker from the Canary Islands, as he becomes an Armero until 2025

Juan Carlos Arana, the new Eibar striker who hails from the Canary Islands, spoke about his new adventure this Wednesday and stated that: “At Eibar, I can grow and I can help the team grow through my humility and hard work.”

Arana, who was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2000, was presented as an Eibar player until 2025 at an event attended by Amaia Gorostiza, the President of the Club, and by César Palacios, the Sporting Director of the Club.

THE WORDS OF JUAN CARLOS ARANA

“It goes without saying that Eibar is a historic club. From the very first moment this came about, I realised that I could grow and also help them grow through my humility and hard work. I'm very happy that the deal went through quickly and easily.”

“I have found a family atmosphere here, an environment in which I felt at ease from the first day. My new teammates have enquired about where my partner and I would be staying, and that surprised me a little. I came from a dressing room of young players, where these details aren’t thought about so much, so I’m grateful and now, when someone new arrives, I can welcome them in this way.”

“I come here with enthusiasm and excitement, as this is the first project I’ll be a part of with a big team trusting me. More than anything, I want to give my all and contribute in whatever role I’m given. What stands out about me is the drive with which I usually attack spaces and how I can hold the ball up. I consider myself a complete striker and, depending on what the coach needs, I believe I can give it to him.”

“Given how I’ve defined my play, I identify with Stoichkov, who moves in all positions, as you can put him on the wings, up front or in the centre and he always performs wherever he plays. Professional football is about contributing wherever you play and in the best possible way.”

“On Sunday, I watched the game in Ipurua and I experienced an unforgettable atmosphere, one I've only experienced from the outside at a few other grounds. I'm looking forward to experiencing it from the pitch now. I hope that everything that happens there is good.”

“From day one, I have been like a sponge, absorbing everything as quickly as possible. I'm here to contribute and if the coach asks me to contribute in the next game, I will. And if it's next week, it will be next week.”

THE WORDS OF AMAIA GOROSTIZA

“We have started 2023 with a win at Ipurua, one that has put us in the lead in the table. Personally, I don't like to think about it too much, but it's very nice to see us there. Hopefully we can continue with this dynamic and we can get the prize we deserve.”

“Juan Carlos Arana is a player who will bring a lot to our team and help us a lot. He's coming to us from Villarreal B. I know you have a fantastic group of new teammates who have welcomed you with open arms. I hope you can all help each other.”

THE WORDS OF CÉSAR PALACIOS

“He is a young player who we have been monitoring for a long time and, with the evaluations we carried out as a technical team following the first half of the season, we believed he could be a signing for the present and the future. We were excited that he could come to help us. We were able to make things quick and agile and we are happy and excited with the whole group. We are a competitive team and we are going to fight until the end.”

“Juan Carlos has the ambition to want to take on a new project in the professional game. He comes from great youth academies, but to find himself in a situation like this, in a structure of a big club, is a nice situation for him. That desire to keep moving forward and to keep proving himself is very important. He has good numbers and quality. He is a complete striker, but he is also in the process of learning, improving, listening and working hard to grow, always with the ambition to contribute great things.”

“There is great competition here, as the squad is very strong at all levels and that is our strength. He comes to help, like everyone else, and that is very important. Success is not only down to those who play a lot of minutes, as the example of the ones who don't play as much and who are still giving their all every day in training means that healthy competition stays at its maximum. It’s about having solidarity among everyone and the ambition to want to be better.”
