Jovanovic: Eibar is the best club to come to in what's the best league in the world

The Armeros' latest signing was today unveiled at Ipurua

Speaking in this unveiling at Ipurua, SD Eibar's latest signing in the winter transfer window, Vukašin Jovanović, insisted that "Eibar is the best club to come to in what's the best league in the world".

Jovanovic, a 21-year-old central defender, joins the club from Bordeaux in a loan deal until the end of the season with the option to extend the arrangement for a further season and a clause to buy the player once the loan period is up.

The new signing stated that he is "very happy to be here", declaring that he is keen to "play in La Liga".  "When I heard of Eibar's interest, I didn't think twice about getting in my car and driving two and a half hours to come here from Bordeaux".

"(Marko) Dmitrović (Eibar's goalkeeper) had only good things to say about Eibar: that it's a good club and although it's small, progress is being made each year. A couple of players from my country called me and had very good things to say about Eibar. I can see that the spirit in the dressing room is very good. The coach seems a really positive person. I hope that we can be successful together. My biggest target is to do well for Eibar and stay here for a long time. If the national team then come calling for the World Cup, I'd welcome that".

Eibar's director of football, Fran Garagarza, revealed that "He's a player that we know all about. We've been to see him play seven times in live games", both for Bordeaux and Serbia Under-21s. "Everyone in the football department thought that he's a player that we had to try and sign".

"An unexpected opportunity came up right at the end of the window and we believed that we had to take it because we had very good reports about him.  I would like to thank Bordeaux because the negotiations went well.  We're signing a player for the present and the future".

In her address, club president Amaia Gorostiza welcomed Jovanovic to the club and highlightedthat "We're very pleased with how the winter window has panned out" and had words of praise for "the excellent job that the football department has done in this window".
