Joseba Etxeberria: "We're heading into the final straight in a very confident and assured frame of mind"

The Eibar coach stresses that "there will be a great atmosphere on Sunday because we're all aware of what's at stake"

Joseba Etxeberria stated that the team is heading into the final stretch of the season "very well in terms of confidence and security, we're very focused, there's so much at stake and there's so little left that we don't need to motivate the players, there's no need, we all know what's at stake".

Speaking at the press conference ahead of Sunday's game at Ipurua (16:15h) against Alcorcón, the Eibar coach stressed that "there's going to be a great atmosphere, you can feel it in the street because we all know what we're playing for".  "Feeling the strength and encouragement from the stands gives us a lot of energy".

JOSEBA ETXEBERRIA PRESS CONFERENCE

“Beyond what happened in Alcorcón, we’re focused on today. We’ve analysed them very well and we know that they’re in their best form of the season and they have a feeling of solidity which is very important. To win, we’ll have to play a good game because they will demand a lot of us in defence and attack.”

“We’re only missing Rios, which at this point of the season is very important to have most players available to have the option to prepare a plan for the game and have different alternatives from the bench so the fresh players can maintain or even improve our level.”

“We’re very at home at Ipurua because we feel the support of our people. There will be a great atmosphere on Sunday because we all know what’s at stake. I encourage everyone to come, our players appreciate it that they do and they support them. It helps give us a lot of energy. You can feel it in the street because we all know what we’re playing for.”

“Eibar is in a very good moment, I don’t believe in coincidences. When you do things well, you get results. In that sense, the club is growing because they are doing things well and that’s important to lay the foundations for the future as a club, as an institution, in a sporting sense and beyond with projects like the new training ground. That’s what’s helping to achieve good results. From our side, we’ll do all we can to win promotion for the men’s first team.”

“There are 45 days left of the season. Seven games, starting on Sunday. There’s so much at stake and there’s so little left that we don’t need to motivate the players, there’s no need, we all know what’s at stake. We’re heading into the final straight in a very confident and assured frame of mind. We know how much each point takes and the advantage we have is that we’ve been as low as last, but we’ve got to here and we won’t stop here.”
