Joseba Etxeberria: "If we manage to maintain our level of play and commitment, we're going to be a very strong side"

The Eibar coach stresses that "points are going to become more and more important" and that "we'll only be able to beat Burgos if we play at our best"

Joseba Etxeberria stated that, if Eibar manage to "maintain our current level of play and commitment over time, we're going to be a very strong team between now and the end of the season".

Speaking at the press conference ahead of Sunday's clash against Burgos CF at Ipurua, the Armeros' coach stressed that "points are going to become more and more important as there's less and less time left" and underlined that "we'll only be able to beat Burgos with our best form, and we need to be strong at Ipurua".

JOSEBA ETXEBERRIA’S PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

“I think that we have a lot of confidence, we know that no matter how well you play, you can still lose, as happened against Espanyol. What matters is how you respond, I didn’t know if we would win or not in Leganés but I knew that we would play a great game because of the week we had in training with the players giving their all every day.”

“The team are committed, they showed the level of play that they have in training and with a player less for 30 minutes we kept a clean sheet and the players showed their commitment to defend the lead against the league leaders.”

“Now we are stronger because we are very clear on how we want to play, even among those who are not playing as often. They showed that in training every day after a hard blow against Espanyol.”

“For a team to get better, you have to show the two things we showed at Butarque: a level of play and precision in high-speed movements, which we showed and isn’t easy, and that commitment, like we did playing with one man down for 30 minutes. If we manage to maintain our level of play and commitment, we’re going to be a very strong side.”

“At this point, after two thirds of the season, it’s important to be amongst the best like we are, but also to be very clear on how we want to play and our way of playing. Everyone here is very clear on that and everyone who comes to Ipurua knows the style of play we have.”

“It’s true that Burgos are much stronger at home than away, but they can play their best at any time and that’s what we’re expecting so we’re demanding our very best in order to be able to win.”
