Joseba Etxeberria: There are key moments in every season and tomorrow is one of them
The Eibar coach stresses that a win in Cartagena would give us a lot of confidence
Joseba Etxeberria stated in the press conference prior to Friday’s match in Cartagena that "there are key moments in every season and tomorrow is one of them".
He added: "We have to focus on giving continuity to what we are doing and transfer it to the game. We have to play with a lot of determination, knowing that we are going to have to do a lot of things right for a long time if we want to win. It would be a victory at a very important moment that would give us a lot of confidence and reinforce a lot of what we are doing. We want to give continuity to many things we are doing well."
JOSEBA ETXEBERRIA’S PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES
“Stoichkov came off the other day with some knee pain, but he’s recovered now. Berrocal it’s true that he’s been suspended, but he’s also had some problems and he’s now okay.”
“There are players on the home straight of their recoveries like Correa, Konrad, and we need all the positive news to make us stronger.”
“Simic came from training in a group, which helps him to be fit sooner, Qasmi wasn’t so he’s taking a bit longer but both of them are in good shape and they’ll both be called up. The more options we have, to start and to end games, the better.”
“I think Cartagena have good players, a lot with experience at this level. It’s been a slow start but they will move up the table
“We have to respect our rival but focus on what we are doing and the improvements we have seen to make our opponent feel uncomfortable.”
“It’s clear this is a dangerous game, the necessity means that your level focus, concentration and intensity, playing with everything, is dangerous. We aren’t in a much better position, we can’t relax because we are down there and want to be among the best.
“I like what I’m seeing, last week I spoke about the feeling of suffering but all together, and that gives me confidence and we have to show that in the match.”
“I think the other day, in addition to the level we played at after 15 minutes, scoring from set pieces and creating chances from strategic plays, keeping clean sheets, they make you better and give you more belief and security in different phases of the game.”
“At this level, teams are so similar in quality that being strong at set pieces can make a difference, it lets us be better and be more competitive.”
