Eibar secure fourth consecutive win by defeating Burgos

Jon Bautista scored the winner to secure three points for Garitano’s men, who produced a dominant performance

A 34th-minute header from Jon Bautista has handed Eibar their fourth consecutive win. The Armeros produced a superior performance and showed their resolve across the 90 minutes.

Ahead of starting the game, ex Armero Miguel Ángel Atienza received the fans’ Eskozia La Brava trophy, awarded to the bravest player from last season.

In the game itself, Eibar started the clash excellently, creating danger from the off. In the seventh minute, there was a clear chance, with Stoichkov delivering a fine cross, allowing Nolaskoain to force Caro into a good stop. In the 14th minute, Matheus’ took aim from outside the area, but couldn’t quite find the net.

After early pressure, the goal arrived in the 34th minute, and from a set-piece. Matheus delivered a pin-point corner from the left to find Jon Bautista, who headed into the bottom corner. It was a just reward for the pressure applied by the Armeros.
