Eibar’s unbeaten run comes to an end with a defeat to Albacete (3-1)

The Armeros left Carlos Belmonte empty-handed.

Eibar’s unbeaten run came to an end after five wins and three draws following a 3-1 defeat to Albacete

The home side took advantage of their opportunities with a direct approach, often winning the second balls. Albacete went into the break 2-0 up thanks to goals from Higinio and Juanma.

Janma got on the score-sheet again in the 56th minute to make it 3-0, all-but finishing off the clash. Quique did pull one back for Eibar on the hour-mark, and Garitano’s men pushed to score again, but despite creating opportunities, Albacete saw out the win and took all three points.

Despite the defeat, Eibar will remain in the automatic promotion places this weekend, heading into this matchweek with a four-point advantage over third-placed Granada

Los Armeros now look ahead to Friday’s clash with Real Zaragoza at Ipurua.

The stars of the Albacete clash were the Eibar fans who travelled more than 600 kilometres to back their team in Albacete. Incredible support.
