REPORT: Eibar leave empty-handed against an undefeated Levante side (3-0)

The Armeras lost 3-0 at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol

Eibar lost 3-0 against an unbeaten Levante side in third place in the table. The Armeras came out focused on their defensive work and didn't make things easy for the Valencian side.

In the first half, Levante dominated the game but Eibar were strong and well-organised. The home side enjoyed a number of chances until they managed to score, with a clear-cut opportunity that would have been the first goal of the game coming from World Cup winner Alba Redondo.

It was not until the 40th minute when the first goal for the home team arrived, and then, when there was barely a minute left for the break, Levante scored again.

After the break, the Valencians scored the third goal in the first few minutes of the second half. Despite that, Eibar held on and fought hard against a Levante side that has not lost a single game so far and has now won five in a row.

In addition to the good defensive work, the Eibar players made their opponents more and more uncomfortable, showing clear progress compared to the first few games of this season back in the top flight.

The final stretch of the match was fairly even and without clear chances for either side. The Armeras did not lose confidence and did not concede again after that third goal in the 47th minute.

Yerai Martin's team will rest next weekend due to the international break and will return on December 9 to face FC Barcelona in Catalonia.
