Eibar achieve an important 1-0 win away in Tenerife

A goal from Corpas was enough for Gaizka Garitano’s squad to take the victory

Eibar secured an important away win when they visited Tenerife on Saturday, with a first-half goal from José Corpas enough to make this a three-point haul for Los Armeros, who remain near the top of the standings.

After a good start by the home side, the visitors needed to take a step forward and managed to do so. Gaizka Garitano’s side were very solid in defence and tried to take the initiative as the game went on, doing so when Corpas broke the deadlock with a nice shot from inside the box in the 35th minute. The Eibar player made the most of a pass from Bautista to finish well and put the team ahead, meaning they went in for the half-time break with a lead on the scoreboard.

After the restart, there were several dangerous chances from the home side and they forced Luca Zidane into a decisive intervention. Despite Eibar’s efforts to take control, Tenerife continued to push forward in search of an equaliser. However, Los Armeros were very solid in defence.

Eibar remained resolute and defended their lead admirably, securing another win and making this a very happy visit to Tenerife for the large number of Eibar fans who travelled to be at the at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium.
