Eibar will travel across the world in a Post Office postcard
A special print run of Post Office postcards dedicated to Eibar will carry the name of the gunsmiths Club across the world
The Club and the Post Office have presented a special print run of prepaid postcards dedicated to Eibar that will travel all over the planet displaying the gunsmiths’ colours. Each postcard includes the postage, so it isn’t necessary to buy a separate stamp, and they will be sold with three prices: for delivery within the state, for Europe and for mailing to any other part of the world.
The presentation event which took place at Ipurua, was presided over by Jose Mari Arrizabalaga, vice president for Sport; Jon Arregi, manager of SD Eibar Foundation, the director of the Eibar Postal Service, Ion Cano and the Head of the Delivery Unit, Andoni García.
The postcards can be purchased from today at the Eibar Post Office and the offices of the Club in Ipurua, and they will soon be available from tobacconists and the official Eibar shop. www.eibarstore.com .
The collaboration between SD Eibar Foundation and the Post Office began last year with the issue of the commemorative 75 Anniversary stamp and was so well received by the public that the entire stock of the stamp was sold-out in less than a week.
For this reason, both entities have reached agreement to put the image shown on the stamp back in circulation, but this time on a postcard.
The design on the postcard has a vintage look and shows the figure of a player kicking a leather football. The moustached figure, dressed in a half-sleeved shirt with a collar, intends to evoke the footballers of the 60s, 70s and 80s, in homage to the protagonists of the gunsmiths’ history during the years spent playing in the Second and Second (B) Divisions.
