Eibar secure three golden points against Madrid CFF in Fuenlabrada

Despite an early goal from the home side, Las Armeras managed to take all three points thanks to goals from Andrea Álvarez and Esperanza Pizarro.

SD Eibar’s women’s first team returned from the international break with a visit to Madrid CFF and they managed to secure all three points. It was very important for Las Armeras to get the points and they even produced a comeback, after conceding in the opening minutes. They then outplayed the Madrid side for the majority of the match.

The game started with a scare for Las Armeras. With barely half a minute on the clock, Madrid CFF had the first clear-cut chance, but were unable to score at that point. However, shortly afterwards, the home side netted the opening goal of the game in the 11th minute.

Eibar continued to press and never let up, eventually getting their rewards midway through the first half when Andrea Álvarez levelled the scores after a great pass from Andrea Sierra. The visitors had it clear that they were not going to make it easy for the capital city side.

Las Armeras created chances and pressed in the second half but there was also an early chance for Madrid CFF, only for a quick clearance from Carla to prevent a second goal. Miralles also did well in goal, with several interventions that were important in the victory.

The second Eibar goal came after Esperanza Pizarro was awarded a penalty. After missing the spot kick, and with all the confidence in the world, the Uruguayan scored a stunning 25-yard strike. That meant three points for Las Armeros, secured against one of the most dangerous opponents in Liga F.
