Eibar now has an official supporters club in Japan

Takashi Inui has taken part in a videoconference organised to inaugurate the Tokyo Eibar Supporters Club

From today, SD Eibar has an official supporters club in Japan, the Tokyo Eibar Supporters Club, which was opened via a videoconference between both localities with the presence of the President of SD Eibar, Alex Aranzábal, the president of the supporters club, Robert Verdier, and Eibar’s Japanese footballer, Takashi Inui, as well as representatives of the Eskozia La Brava Supporters club.

During the course of the videoconference, Aranzábal said it was “an honour and a privilege to have a supporters club and fans of Eibar in Japan”.

He recalled that Eibar now has 24 official supporters clubs (three years ago there were only two) in eleven countries, something that “until recently was a dream”. Outside Spain, there are Eibar supporters clubs in China, Germany, Greece, USA, Cyprus, Poland, Mexico, Israel and France, as well as Japan.

Today, in addition to the inauguration of this supporters club, all the documentation arrived at the Club that gives official accreditation to the Eibar-Gasteiz supporters club from Vitoria.

Robert Verdier said that “it is an honour to have this small supporters club” and was confident that “it will be a very big club” in the future. “We are helping to make Eibar known in Japan and I hope that Eibar can come one day to Japan for a tour”.

During the proceedings, the Japanese supporters had the opportunity to speak with Takashi Inui and some of them announced that they will arrange a trip to Eibar to get to know the city and the Club.

The event concluded with an aperitif based on Basque and Japanese food.
