Eibar make it back-to-back wins following 2-1 away triumph over Alavés
Jordán and Charles were on target for the Armeros
SD Eibar secured a vital victory this afternoon at Mendizorroza, running out 2-1 winners over Alavés to record a second win in as many games.
The Armeros dominated virtually throughout all of the opening period, during which they had several chances to have taken the lead. However, it wasn't until after the half-hour mark that the visitors got themselves in front, with Joan Jordán's thumping left-footed finish flying past the helpless Fernando Pacheco.
After the restart, Eibar sought to extend their advantage and afford themselves some breathing space in the game. With 70 minutes on the clock a fine run and cross from Iván Alejo culminated in Charles powerfully glancing the ball home.
Now two goals to the good, the Armeros began to boss proceedings and it was only in the very final stages and with the game into stoppage time that Alavés managed to trouble Jose Luis Mendilibar's men, with Burgui firing home to cut the arrears.
Next week sees Eibar take on Espanyol, where the Armeros will be bidding to record a third straight win.
