Eibar get back to winning ways against Osasuna

A Kike García strike sealed victory for the Armeros in Etxarri-Aranatz

A first-half Kike García goal was enough to guide SD Eibar to victory against Osasuna in the sides' friendly clash in the Navarran town of Etxarri-Aranatz.

In the early stages, Jose Luis Mendilbar's charges played some attractive football, as they dominated in the middle third, whilst looking to penetrate down the flanks.

With 23 minutes played, one such move saw García meet a Bebé cross from the left to turn home what would turn out to be the only goal of the game.

Osasuna looked to hit back during the remainder of the first half, but the Pamplona-based outfit struggled to pose any real threat on Asier Riesgo's goal.

After the restart, the tempo of the game dropped - possibly as a result of the fatigue brought on by the intense heat - and it was Osasuna who began to dictate proceedings, albeit without managing to seriously threaten Eibar's lead.

The Armeros were organised and efficient at the back, and in spite of relinquishing possession in the middle third on several occasions, they would not be denied victory.

This 1-0 away triumph brings an end to a four-game winless streak during which Eibar registered three defeats and a draw.

At the end of the game, Mendilibar received numerous shows of support from the fans of his former club, Osasuna. The Eibar coach ended up returning to the dressing room almost half an hour after the final whistle following countless requests for photos and autographs.

Goals: 0-1. 23': Kike García.
