Eibar fall at home against Sevilla (1-3)

The armeros face a heavy defeat, but the quality of the opposition was evident

SD Eibar has suffered defeat in the seventh gameweek of the league against Sevilla. The los armeros had stood up during the match, but a start full of effectiveness by the visiting team left the armeros without options for redemption. Eibar tried until the end, and only in the last moments did manage to make up the result with a consolation goal from Jordán.

Eibar wanted to impose a high pace at the start of the game in a first half full of alternatives. The Mendilibar team on show have played on the field frequently, but Sevilla had surprised in various counterattacks. Orellana produced the first occasion of the match, but his shot went wide. The set of Nervión, his part, had in the boots of Sarabia the clearest opportunities.

Although the team had shown a great display during the first half, it was not possible to sustain the same at start of the second half. Nothing else resumed the encounter, Sevilla had spun a great transition that had finished Silva to pass of Navás. Minutes later, in a new in coming ball from the right wing, Cote had blocked the pass towards the center of Navas with his hand and the referee pointed out the penalty spot.

Banega transformed the penalty chance to a goal and complicated the result of the match for the whole of Eibar. From there, Eibar did manage a high share of possession, but was not able to avoid the goal of Vaclik. Orellana and Diop, were able to attempt at the goal on different occasions but their shots went high.
In the final stretch, Banega had extended the sevilla lead to three with a shot from distance. And when everything seemed to indicate that the match would end with that result, Jordan scored the consolation with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.
