Eibar arrive in small Austrian town of Kössen to continue their pre-season preparations

The trip marks the first time in the club's history that an Eibar side has travelled abroad ahead of a new season

The Eibar players once again find themselves on foreign soil - just as they did at the end of the last campaign when they spent time in the United States - as a part of the intense pre-season programme laid on by the club, which is designed to ensure that the squad is in peak physical condition.

After Tuesday night's game at the Estadio de Anduva, José Luis Mendilibar's men faced an early start at Bilbao's Loiu airport on Wednesday morning, where they boarded a flight to Munich, and after a journey in the official club coach (although not the new one), they arrived in the small town of Kössen in the Austrian region of Tyrol.

Upon arrival, the team settled into their new surroundings, before getting a first feel for the pitches they'll train on over the coming days during an afternoon training session.

Kössen's Kaiserwinkl Arena is set to play host to Eibar's first game on Austrian soil on Thursday at 18:00 CET.

Mendilibar has travelled with a squad of 26 players, but will be unable to call upon Jota - who continues with his recovery after having fractured the proximal phalanx of the fifth toe in his left foot - and Antonio Luna, who has a strain to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh.
