Eibar adapted football team to play a match against a mixed squad of veteran Armeros

One of the objectives of this initiative is to foster a sense of belonging to the Club

An adapted football team from Eibar, one made up of players with cerebral palsy, are going to take part in a match this Sunday against a team of former Armero players, both men and women, with this game being organised by the SD Eibar Foundation.

The fixture will take place at the Ipurua Annexe ground at 17:00 CET on Sunday, kicking off just an hour after the end of this weekend’s LaLiga SmartBank match between Eibar and Málaga.

There are various objectives behind this initiative, such as fostering a sense of belonging to Eibar, promoting interaction between the club’s different divisions and showcasing the commitment of the club and its foundation to adapted sport and inequality reduction.

The veterans’ team will be made up of both men and women who have been part of Eibar’s history, including historic players and former captains such as Oskar Artetxe, Bixente Oiarzabal, Ainhoa Alonso and Mikel Arruabarrena.

This match is a follow-up to a similar one that took place on October 23rd, which pitted the cerebral palsy side against Eibar’s men’s cadete side.

These initiatives are part of a volunteering programme in which sponsors, collaborators and club staff work together on various social actions in order to continue promoting community work and values such as empathy, equality and commitment.
