Dmitrović: When we perform as we can, we're capable of competing with the big boys

Eibar's Serbian shotstopper spoke of his hopes of seeing a sell-out at Ipurua and "celebrating a win with the fans"

Speaking today in a press conference held at Ipurua, SD Eibar goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović declared that "if we perform as we can, we're able to compete with the big boys".

"Atlético Madrid are very tough opposition, but we're in really good form and are enjoying a fine run. I hope that it's a sell-out because with the support of our fans, who are always our 12th man, we're capable of competing with any side in La Liga. I hope that we can celebrate a win with our supporters".

"In sport there's no such thing as an endless winning run. All good streaks come to an end at some point. This run of form will come to an end and we hope to keep pushing that day back and that it doesn’t come this weekend. The most important thing is that we believe in ourselves and don't show any sort of fear. If the opposition perform better than us on the day, we'll hold our hands up and congratulate them. We'll be going all out and are aiming to win the game. We're excited and are really motivated to turn in a good performance and put more points on the board".

"Atlético Madrid are one of the best teams in Spain and the world. They've got great strength in depth and have the players to do what their coach wants. That some of their squad are unavailable is a plus for us because they're key players for them, but, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what team they put out. We'll have to be at our best and not expect the opposition to make any mistakes".

"Their strength lies in the group. The way they play involves attacking and defending with all 11 players. Every one of their players is capable of doing damage and within their side there's always a player who can hurt you in a given sequence of play. They've got players with real quality. We'll analyse the way they play tomorrow and on Saturday and will look to see where they can hurt us. We'll be trying to capitalise on their weaknesses".

When asked about the few goals that the team has conceded in recent matches, Dmitrović insisted that "the results are all down to the team effort". "We're performing really well and that's delivering results. We've got to continue putting in the same work and desire and make the most of the fine form that we're in".
