REPORT: Eibar fall to defeat at Ipurua against Madrid CF
The Armeras lost 1-6 to the Madrid players with a goal by Andrea Álvarez
Eibar were beaten by Madrid CFF at Ipurua in what was their third game in La Liga F, corresponding to the postponed first matchday which was due to be played at the beginning of September.
The starting line-up chosen by coach Yerai Martin had some notable absences of regular starters. The Armeras defended again, as they did last weekend at the Nuevo Los Cármenes, with all their artillery, despite having less ball possession and the visitors having the better chances.
In the 33rd minute came the first of six goals for Madrid CFF. A powerful defence did their best, with Amani diving all the way into the goal, but the away team still scored a dubious second goal.
The second half started with no changes to the team, although a few minutes later allfive changes were made for the Armeras: Campos, Andrea Álvarez, Arene, Sierra and Nati Cano for Espe Pizarro, Amani, Malado, Annelie and Elba. These five changes helped to strengthen the Armeras and Andrea Álvarez even managed to score in the 75th minute, but it wasn't enough.
After those five changes, Eibar were stronger in attack and possession, but were unable to avoid defeat against one of the strongest teams in La Liga F. The last three goals came in six fateful minutes of stoppage time, against a powerful opponent, with a depleted Eibar side who was unable to impose his game but who is already thinking about this weekend's match.
The Armeras face three opponents in a very short time, the first of them on Sunday against UD Tenerife, at 12.00 CEST, at Ipurua. Next week they will travel to Ciudad Real for the second round of the Copa de la Reina and on Sunday October 14 they will play in Zubieta against Real Sociedad.
