Club's youth set-up bids farewell to the season

The event took place on the pitch adjoining Ipurua

Players and their parents, coaches and members of the club's board of directors today came together at an event held to mark the end of the season for the club's youth teams.

During the course of this annually-held event, in addition to expressing thanks to everyone for their hard work during the season and celebrating the teams' achievements, the standout players and those held as best representing the club's values from each of the teams were presented with awards.

In her address, the club's president, Amaia Gorostiza, declared that"This gathering of friends brings together what Eibar is all about and all the values we defend and wish to instill from the very earliest age".

"You boys and girls are our biggest asset. We want to educate you as athletes and as individuals, so that in the future you feel proud to belong to this family".

Gorostiza also offered her thanks to all of the coaches within the youth set-up and expressed special words of thanks to Mikel González, who has been the coordinator of SD Eibar's youth set-up for the past three seasons and for whom this event marked his last official involvement at the club before leaving Ipurua at the end of the season.

González congratulated all of the teams on their achievements this term before wishing the players all the best in the future, whilst stressing that they are the ones that best epitomise what Eibar is all about.

The mayor of Eibar, Miguel de los Toyos, offered his congratulations "to those who have won trophies and those who might not have won quite as much, to those who have played regularly and those who have perhaps played less minutes", because the most important thing is the youngsters' development as individuals.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were the club's director of football, Fran Garagarza, as well as Eibar-born swimmers Markel Alberdi and Jon Romarate, who were on hand to present the individual awards.
