CD Parquesol Women triumph in three-team tournament held in Unbe
Eibar slipped to one-goal defeats against Osasuna and Parquesol
Valladolid outfit CD Parquesol tasted glory in the three-team tournament featuring CA Osasuna and SD Eibar contested in Unbe on Saturday 12 August, a competition which marked the Armeras' first outing of the pre-season campaign.
Eibar succumbed to 1-0 defeats in their two encounters and whilst the Valladolid-based side and Osasuna couldn't be separated during normal time, Parquesol it was who ultimately emerged victorious in the penalty shootout.
Whilst giving a good account of themselves, it was evident that Xuban Peña's ladies still have much work to do if they are to improve on their displays here in the remaining pre-season run-outs prior to the league campaign, which kicks off on 3 September.
The Armeras produced a strong performance against Osasuna in their tournament opener, however, the Navarrans drew first blood when Nerea Telllería converted from the spot. Nahia Larrinaga had a golden opportunity to have restored parity but she failed to find the net after having been put clean through against the Rojillas' goalie.
In their meeting with Parquesol, the Armeras began on the front foot and Ainhoa Alonso had a host of chances to have put her side into the ascendancy. However, as the match entered the dying stages, Lucía Rodríguez struck the winner for the Castile and León outfit.
Parquesol and Osasuna played out a 1-1 stalemate, with the Valladolid side ultimately keeping their nerve to claim glory in the shootout.
