Capa and Keko agree that SD Eibar has met its objectives for this season

Both players have taken part in the presentation of the SD Eibar Summer Camp

The defender Ander Capa and the midfielder Keko Gontán have both agreed that SD Eibar has met its objectives for this season by ensuring that the team will continue in the BBVA League.

Capa and Keko took part in the presentation of the third edition of the SD Eibar Summer Camp, that will take place in the facilities of Ipurua from 27 June until 9 July.

Ander Capa considers that the team has met “the goal of staying up, with 4 or 5 games to play” and “we are going to try and win on Sunday to get into the top ten, which is our objective now”.

“The team has always given its all, with a really good first part to the season. The objective was to stay up, which we have done so the team is very pleased”.

On a personal level, he explained that “I had to play in a new position and I’ve done quite well”. “The mister had confidence in me and I’m very pleased”.

For his part, Keko Gontán pointed out that “it seems that what we have done isn’t really appreciated because it was achieved well in advance, but the goal was to stay up and that’s been done”.

“Of course we could have finished higher in the table but we could also have been unlucky enough to be fighting to avoid relegation. You have to be pleased”.

For Keko, in spite of being “quite a long time out” because of a muscle injury, “it's been a positive year, one to get the feeling back. I’ve given everything on the field, I’ve given all my enthusiasm and desire, sometimes better, sometimes worse but I am happy and feel pleased with what I have done”.

On his immediate future, he stressed that “I still have two years left on my contract”. “Maybe I have played my last game in Ipurua, maybe not. All the indications are that I haven’t because I still have two years left on my contract. I am very happy here. I don’t know why I haven’t been selected for the Basque squad because I feel like one of them (Basque)”.
