Antonio Luna: If we perform as we have been doing at Ipurua, we'll have a really good chance of winning

The SD Eibar defender declared that the Alavés game will be an "attractive and special one"

Speaking today to the press, SD Eibar defender, Antonio Luna shared his belief that if the team "performs to the same level as we have been of late at home, we'll have a really good chance" of claiming victory against Deportivo Alavés on Sunday.

"It's a special game. Speaking to my teammates we've mentioned how there's always a special rivalry with Alavés and we're keen to get back to winning ways. They're a side that compete wherever they go and play. In their last away game they won at Villarreal, which is a verytough place to go. We'll have to really be on it if we're to take the three points".

In Luna's view, it's essential that the Armeros maintain their strong form at Ipurua in the coming months. "Nearly all of our points have come at home and we've got to keep that home form up. It lays the foundations in terms of our ultimate target, which is to remain in the division".

"The gaffer doesn't concentrate much on the opposition and prefers to focus on what we're going to do. We'll have to go out and play our game, exert high pressure, show our intensity and get amongst them. If we perform, we're capable of getting the three points".

In reference to his own performances this term, Luna underlined that, "After last season, when I had a tough time with injuries, I've been able to find that rhythm that all footballers need to perform to the required level. I'm happy with how the team is doing, and on a personal level, after not being able to last season, I'm really happy to be helping the team out this time round".

Despite being a regular starter in José Luis Mendilibar's line-up, in reference to those making the starting XI, Luna insisted that, "We can't afford to slacken off if we want to continue to feature in the gaffer's plans because everyone is performing to a very high standard".

"We're enjoying a season that I would rate as being between very good and excellent, and at this stage, we're performing to the required level. I think that both Alavés and ourselves will approach the game just as we would any other match, although in truth it is a bit of a special one. If we perform to the same level as we have been of late at home, we'll have a really good chance of winning the game".
