Antonio Luna: I spent 15 years at the club and it'll be a special game for me

Saturday sees the Eibar defender come up against the club where his career began, as the Armeros take on Sevilla

Speaking to the press earlier on today, SD Eibar defender and Sevilla FC academy graduate, Antonio Luna declared that Saturday's game against his former club, "will be a special one because I spent 15 years there, it'll be a great game".

Luna, who missed today's training session as a precaution on account of calf cramp, recalled how, "I didn't get to face Sevilla in either of the games last season because of injury, but I'll be fine for Saturday if the gaffer decides to play me".

"My duty is to SD Eibar, my current club. I have to give my all, as we try to achieve the best possible results. Next up for us it's Sevilla. I wish them all the best from Sunday onwards, but on Saturday, we've got to take the points here at Ipurua".

In Luna's words, Eibar are a "competitive side that are 100% committed".  The left-back went on to explain that, "with time, we're adjusting to the ideas; it's to be expected that things get off to a bit of a slow start. It's true that in the last couple of games we've had the rub of the green, but you also have to look at our commitment and work rate, which is what we're all about and it's what'll drive us on to success".

When quizzed about the club's new recruits, Luna commented that, "A lot of the players that have been brought in operate in attacking areas. In defence, we've got much the same players as we had last year. Ultimately, whenever competitive, quality players are drafted in everything comes together so much more easily. This year, we won't have any issues in that regard, because the new signings are all top quality".

"This is my second season at Eibar and I always say the same thing: that it's really enjoyable to play with teammates like these week in, week out, because they never allow the opposition any let-up and they give their all out on the pitch. Up until now, that's what's brought us success. It was our approach last year and this time round I'm sure that we'll achieve our objective, because we'll never be found wanting in terms of endeavour ".

When asked for a prediction for Saturday's clash, Luna suggested that, "a 1-0 win would be very good", which he justified by saying that, "for a defender, it's very important to keep a sheet".
