Ansotegi and Radosevic, presented as new SD Eibar players
Ansotegi will wear number 2 and Radosevic number 6
The central defender Jon Ansotegi and the Croatian midfielder Josip Radosevic have been presented today in Ipurua as new SD Eibar players.
During the presentation, Jon Ansotegi stated that to play for Eibar “is another challenge”. “I come here with lots of enthusiasm. Between the ages of 12 and 19 this was my first home in football. It was a chance to return with Eibar playing in the First Division and it was obvious that I had to accept.”
“I am delighted that Eibar have given me this chance and I thank them for that confidence. When this possibility came up I didn’t think about any other option apart from Eibar,” he added.
As he pointed out, he is in good condition and ready to put himself at the coach’s disposal at any moment. “Despite not having played in matches, I haven’t had any physical problems; I have trained flat out and have been active all the time.” “If Eibar is up there in the table it is because the ones who are playing have been playing very well. I am conscious of that and have come to do my bit.”
For his part, Josip Radosevic remarked that Eibar “is a team that is working very well” and that he is “very happy to come here” and eager to “give the maximum possible”.
Radosevic defines himself as a defensive midfielder, with a good shot and the capacity to occupy free spaces and said that he is coming to Eibar with the idea of “helping my teammates”.
Mikel Larrañaga, the SD Eibar board representative, welcomed them both and highlighted the fact that Jon Ansotegi was returning, having played in Eibar’s youth teams between the ages of 12 and 19.
“I am especially satisfied because we are bringing in a person with values, as well as a football player. We are increasing the patrimony of values of the Club in an important way,” he said.
Larrañaga referred to the emotive press conference given yesterday by Ansotegi in San Sebastian. “I was struck by the affection that surrounded him and I was surprised that he spoke in terms of gratitude and not about saying goodbye.”
Fran Garagarza, the Club’s Sporting Director, pointed out that four years ago he was Anostegi’s coach in the Eibar Juvenile team.
Garagarza made public his thanks to Real Sociedad “who have helped us greatly and provided the maximum assistance in this operation”.
