Álvaro Tejero: "We want to keep up our form and the fans have a fundamental role to play"

The Eibar player expects a "very competitive" game against Leganés

Álvaro Tejero stated that Eibar want to "keep up our form" of positive results and added that "the fans play a fundamental role, because they support us, we feel their affection for us and let's hope that this will also be the case on Saturday".

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Saturday's game at Ipurua (18:30) against Leganés, the Armeros' defender stressed that it will be a "competitive match that will be decided by small details".

IPURUA

"We return home, where we are getting stronger this year. We have to keep up our form, carry on like that and build upon the points we got in Ponferrada, where the team worked hard. We are looking forward to the match, to see our fans and try to get another win."

"We want to keep up our form and the fans play a fundamental role. They support us, we feel their affection for us and let's hope that this will also be the case on Saturday."

"Part of those 30 points out of 36 that we've taken at Ipurua is thanks to the fans, we feel their encouragement and their affection for us. It has to be like that until the end. We have four and a half months ahead of us where we have to maintain that form at home because I think that's what's going to keep us up there."

LEADERSHIP

"We've been feeling good for weeks now, we're being solid, strong. We always have to start on the defensive side and be a team that is difficult to score goals against. We keep working hard day by day and correcting the things we have to correct, that's the way."

"Whenever you're top of the table, it's always a nice feeling. You have to try to enjoy the moment, the situation, knowing that there is a long way left to go and only think about Leganés, not go beyond that. It would be a mistake to think about matches other than the one against Leganés, which will be a very difficult game. Experience tells me that we have to look at the short term and focus on trying to play a good game".

LEGANÉS

"All our opponents are complicated. Leganés started the league a bit hesitant, but as time has gone by you can see the potential they have as a group and individually. It's going to be a very competitive match that will probably be decided by small details and we have to be focused to win."

"There will be moments in the match when we feel better and others when we feel worse. We are going to have to be strong and try to take the chances we have. It's going to be a great game.”

CONTINUITY

"We've been working with this coaching team for a year and a half and I think we've picked up the concepts they want from us. The team works day by day, we all work hard together. There is a good group with healthy rivalry and that translates on the field."

"I'm happy to be contributing to the team, to have minutes, in the end a player needs to have game time to gain confidence and show his potential. I am grateful, I continue to work hard on a daily basis, which is what got me here. Here I have found stability and the belief of the coach gives you a lot of confidence. I am very happy here.”
