Ager Aketxe has declared that next Sunday's Copa del Rey clash at Ipurua against Athletic Club will be "a great game for the city and for all of us".

Speaking at a press conference following Eibar's training session at Atxabalpe, the Armeros' player stressed that "they'll be pressing high up the pitch, with a very dynamic game" and added that "we have to play our game, try to keep a clean sheet and make the most of our chances".

AGER AKETXE’S PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

“It’s the team where I started, the team I’m from, it’s a beautiful game. Not only for me, but for everyone, for the city and for all of us.”

“We’re preparing for this like it’s a league game. We haven’t had any midweek game so our week is just like usual.”

“We know that they’re a team who will press us high with dynamic play and with few touches, especially out wide. We think we need to play our game and from there try to keep a clean sheet, which we’ve found difficult in recent months, and try to take our chances.”

“I’m happy with my season, I’m getting minutes which I haven’t in recent years. Everything is coming off, so I want to carry on like this.”

“We try to improve every season, sometimes you achieve it and sometimes you don’t. I think right now I’m in good form and I’m confident, so I’ll try to continue like this.”

“The end of 2023 saw us lack concentration and make mistakes which cost us, but in our play, apart from a few second halves, I don’t think anyone is better than us.”

“I think everything is coming together. I’m more mature as a person, as a player, and there is trust in me, which when you bring it all together, it’s getting results.”

“The team is taking the next step regarding our play, we just need to be more solid which is where we’re dropping points, but we have everything to be up there.”

“In the summer, I wanted to wait to see who the new coach was, but he showed his plans for me, for the team, and I liked what I heard.”

“I’m not a big fan of people apologising when they score, but it’s true that I couldn’t celebrate a goal against Athletic crazily. If it comes, I’ll celebrate, but I won’t lack respect for anyone.”
