A point closer to staying up
Thanks to a later goal in the 87th minute, scored by Borja Bastón, SD Eibar secured a draw in the stadium of Getafe, the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez
The first half started badly for the armeros, in the 7th minute a goal by Velázquez, heading home from Sarabia’s cross, left the sensation that the team hadn’t taken to the field with the right attitude. Shortly after the armeros wanted revenge and in the 11th minute Borja Bastón, in a head to head with Guaita, was on the point of equalising but the ball went agonisingly just wide of the post.
The effort to score the goal and put the game back on level terms continued into the second half. In the 53rd minute Keko latched onto a loose ball in the area that finally ended up in the hands of Getafe’s keeper. Then, in the 68th minute an individual effort by Takashi with a good shot from outside the area hit the post, again surprising the home team. With so much attacking play by the armeros, Getafe managed to react, creating danger in moves that were thwarted by Riesgo, making saves like the one to deny Álvaro Vázquez in the 79th minute. After various attempts and excellent team play, Borja Bastón finally got the equalizer in extremis, scoring in the 87th minute to make it 1-1.
With the one earned today, Eibar now have 38 points, a figure that brings them closer to the dreamed of objective; staying up.
